Owing to the incidence on Friday whereby President Buhari escaped a mob at the prayer ground during the Eid celebration and of course had to quickly get to his car for safety.
Ex-Police Chief, Adebayo Adeoye, a retired deputy inspector-general of police, has lamented the poor handling of president Muhammadu Buhari’s safety by soldiers and has called on the restoration of operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) to manage the protection of the president.
Adeoye said the incidence at the prayer ground showed that the number one citizen of the federation was being protected by military men who were not trained in the act of crowd control. He noted that the lack of skills and experience of the soldiers in the situation could endanger the life of the president.
He suggested that DSS operatives who are highly trained in protecting the president and have the necessary experience should be restored and saddled with that responsibility.
